Grimm Fairy Tales Annotated eBook Jacob Grimm Wilhelm Grimm

I have the Kindle edition. As others have written, this edition would be more useful with a table of contents, and/or an index.

That said, there are a great many stories in this collection, so there's that.

As an aside, not about the 'product' in question, but the stories themselves... I was surprised to see how few of these tales count as "working stories", that is, they do not abide current story-telling convention, they tend to be quite short, and smack of deus ex machina, for instance, or even to fail to make much sense at all.

Grimm Fairy Tales Annotated eBook Jacob Grimm Wilhelm Grimm Reviews

Awesome is all you need to read.
ok
Hadn't read most of the original stories before, although was familiar with many of those that were rewritten and made into mainstream movies or favorite childhood stories. Oh yes, what differences there are! Not all happy endings.

A fun book while reading while reading time may be limited to short stretches.
Reminds me of my childhood. This is what I would like my child to read and enjoy. Just nice and innocent stories basically about nothing but so enjoying. I would recommend these very short stories even to adults, they could be stress busters. In a world like today, we need something to make us smile. A good fairy just may do the trick.

Author George Wilder Jr.
(Nobody Knows)
It has all the fairy tales as stated but it take forever to find them. It would be soooooo much easier if you could click on the name in the index and have it take you there instead of having to search for it page by page.
Maybe the Grimm brothers magically wove a sleeping draught into pages, but I found this collection painfully difficult to stay awake through. After the first few attempts with these stories I conceded to setting a 15 page goal per session to continue making progress if i was ever going to finish it.

Most of the stories have a dark edge to them, and many leave you questioning what the heck you just read. When they were written they must have seemed magical and wildly creative, which in some respects they still are. For the modern reader, don't be surprised if most of the plots feel like they are bad attempts at Game of Thrones twists or could be mistaken for acid-induced dreams.
As a teacher, I got this for my tablet as a reference to use specifically in my classroom. I have and prefer hard covers as well. For these tales I will be "telling" them to the children as part of a literacy activity with Storytelling. I will also be using visual hands-on props or drawings and pictures to enhance the experience (maybe bring back my felt board?) . I wanted Grimm's Fairy Tales because of the classic tales and an edition closes to the original tales to use. I found my students love storytelling and have noticed it has been essential in encouraging language skills as the children will take the props and retell stories. I teach Special Needs age equivalent grade K-4th.. Because of such a wide age range I am always looking for group lessons that can include everyone. I will easily adapt Common Core Standards into this activity on many levels
